Social Innovation in Northern Ireland, Findings from The Young Foundation

New research, released in April 2013, around new and innovative approaches for meeting current social, economic and environmental difficulties. 
The Young Foundation recently launched a report in Belfast looking at the field of social innovation in Northern Ireland. Read their findings and recommendations here.

They talk about the Five Core Elements to being socially innovative:

  • Novelty
  • Implementation
  • Meets a Social Need
  • Effectiveness
  • Enhances society’s capacity to act.

They also talk about the common features, types and the processes of social innovation. In part three they move specifically into innovation in Northern Ireland, utilising case studies.
