The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of existing literature in the area of community sector capacity building. The review will attempt to summarise the key themes and conclusions emerging from this literature with regard to the capacity building needs of the voluntary and community sector, the quality and breadth of existing capacity building provision and potential models for improving the consistency and effectiveness of capacity building delivery.
