The Government has decided that the New Zealand Qualifications Framework needs simplifying, the numbers of qualifications seriously reduced and the career and study pathways clarified. Careerforce the industry training organisation for health, disability, aged support and social services for Levels 1-8 on the NZQA Qualifications Framework is reviewing its qualifications in order to achieve these aims.
The New Zealand Council of Christian Social Services (NZCCSS) is working with Careerforce to ensure social services qualifications are easily understood by students, employees and employers and are relevant for today and for the future. NZCCSS is hosting three meetings, one in Auckland, one in Wellington and one in Christchurch in order to capture the important issues from a social services perspective.
You are invited to attend a meeting to discuss:
• Developing an initial scoping report on “social services workforce pathway/s and qualifications framework to inform the 2013 Qualifications Review…”
• What is available and working?
• What are the current workforce pathways?
• What are the gaps?
• How could the qualifications and pathways be improved?
• What are the linkages with health and disability sectors?
