Sandra Dickson


Sandra is a researcher and community development practitioner with 30 years’ experience in Rainbow communities and family and sexual violence. She is one of the founders of Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura, a community organisation focused on building Takatāpui and Rainbow communities without all forms of violence. Her research practice is embedded in feminist and community development principles and commitment to working with communities who are being “researched,” supported by academic qualifications and her social work history. She is an advisor for the New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse and carries out a number of advisory roles connected to family and sexual violence and Rainbow communities.
