John Godfrey

I am a philanthropy and fundraising consultant with international experience and an independent researcher.
My research interests are elite philanthropy and philanthropy outside the Western traditions. A recent book chapter is ‘Pro-social Giving, and Reciprocity in the Global South’. Other publications include papers on HNWI Indian philanthropy, Corporate Philanthropy in India, and the effects of recessions on philanthropy. My PhD was from Swinburne University, Melbourne for an investigation of elite philanthropy in India; and my Master’s degree from Edinburgh Napier University, analysed corporate support of arts festivals. I provide consultant advice to the arts, education and health sectors. I am on the board of ANZTSR.
