Dean Cowles completed his Master’s thesis exploring strategies to
improve Māori health outcomes, in private surgical settings, by
understanding the value of Māori nurses in this space. He has
extensively researched the Critical Tiriti Analysis (CTA) framework,
developing a policy, guideline, and CTA tool now applied in various
private healthcare settings. He is driven to inspire transformational
change by re-indigenising healthcare for Māori patients and whānau
