Researcher

Sihan Wang-Xu

I am a queer, non-binary researcher and community organiser with a deep interest in space-making, queer experience, and collective belonging. My work sits at the intersection of academic research and community-based practises. My current doctoral research uses digital ethnography to investigate how Chinese queer fandom communities, particularly those centred around Baihe fan cultures, navigate digital environments and construct spaces. My other research interests include (Sinophone) queer diaspora activism, Chinese queer studies, critical disability studies, critical autoethnography.
