Ko Te Arawa māngai-nui ūpoko tū-takitaki.
I am an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Auckland and my research spans Māori worldviews, migration, community resilience, sexuality, precarity and urban poverty, and health – while advancing Kaupapa Māori praxis. My primary area of research has been homelessness, the sharp edge of poverty in New Zealand.
I see research as having the potential to challenge systemic inequities, and offer solutions that uplift whānau. I have worked across many different settings, groups, organisations and ministries, in pursuit of that goal!
