Kia ora! My name is Sarah Morrison. My family’s ancestry hails from Scotland, and I grew up in Tāmaki Makaurau. I completed my undergraduate and masters degree in psychology at UoA, and have since been working as a mental health practitioner for the last few years. I am beginning my PhD in Psychology, engaging with critical mental health theory to explore the lived experiences of self diagnosing with ADHD in Aotearoa. I want to challenge the idea of ADHD being a disorder, and explore the meaning and impact of this diagnostic label along with current care opportunities / barriers through lived experience perspective and narratives.
