The research has been commissioned by Shakti Community Council Inc. This is a literature review on violence against ethnic women especially in NZ. It also explores the possible responses to such violence. The main focus is on women who are from Asian, African and Middle Eastern background. The literature review aims to find gaps that will support Shakti to develop a framework and Guidelines that will further have implications at the policy level. This is part of an ongoing research that will be completed in 2020.
