This presentation examines the immigration-specific factors which makes the domestic experiences of these women unique. In doing so, it highlights where there are gaps in knowledge of and responses for domestic violence for women of refugee and migrant background. Interventions and responses to domestic violence in these communities is also discussed. The essay argues for strategies that emphasizes intersectional approach and critical mobilization of culture.
