Madi is our Digital Content and Communications Coordinator, alongside her studies as a Masters student in Indigenous Studies, where her research focuses on the relationships between takatāpui, social media, and data/algorithmic sovereignty.
She is particularly interested in the ways media shapes, normalises and influences our own identities and the fabric of our collective society. She is also interested in indigenous, postcolonial, political economic, and historical research more broadly.
Beyond her various strands of work, Madi is a storyteller who enjoys creating, but mostly being in and around the ngahare, awa and kūkūwai.
