Dr Emily Greenbank is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at Victoria University of Wellington ( a position funded by the Rutherford Foundation). Her research explored the ways that former refugees navigate employability, or employable identities, in narrative discourse. Her research describes discursive, ideological barriers to full involvement in Aotearoa New Zealand’s labour market. Her current research explores former refugees’ and skilled migrants’ navigation of employability in workplace settings. Emily is interested in the intersection of language and power, and the ways that research in this area can be applied to address inequality.
