About the Presenter

Dr Daniel Hernandez

Dr Daniel Hernandez's parents are his first teachers and continual mentors in his life's education. Daniel is married and has 4 children. He is an urban Wīnak (Mayan) with mixed ancestry who publishes under his pen name Arcia Tecun. He grew up in the Rose Park neighbourhood on the West Side of Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A. and currently lives and works in Tāmaki Makaurau, having recently completed a doctoral degree in Anthropology at the University of Auckland.
