I have recently completed Doctoral study (November 2023) on Māori representation in local government with a focus on Māori wards, and had a paper from that piece of work published in the New Zealand Geographer journal in August 2024. I have a passion for project based research and really enjoy pulling together evidence based reports to guide decision making. I have strong communication skills, both written and oral. I also thoroughly enjoy working with statistics, having studied demography as my supporting subject in my undergraduate degree. My preference is to work in areas of social justice, and my key interests lie in Māori, women, disability, aging, LGBTQIA+ and refugee social justice issues.
