I am passionate about making more options available to pregnant women to optimise their well-being. From what I have seen in clinic as well as the research carried out, pregnant women have been marginalised in a systemic way in Aotearoa and globally with factors surrounding this affecting both mother and child in the short and long-term. By offering pregnant women better options for health and well-being in a more rounded way such as Te Whare Tapu Whā implies, we may find generations to come also benefit. I would love to see funded pragmatic trials in Aotearoa with non-medicalised whole system health modalities which could be used alongside usual care such as Rongoā and pregnancy acupuncture.
