Janne Galbraith

I am a researcher, writer and communicator, with a passion for people and their stories, social and environmental justice. I am most excited by social research that highlights important issues, delivers valuable insights and offers practical solutions. I enjoy engaging with others, hearing their stories and conducting thoughtful analysis of quality data.

In 2020, I was awarded a PhD from AUT University. My research tells the story of the MV Rena, a container ship that grounded off the coast of Tauranga in 2011. It details what happened, how people responded, and the long-term socio-cultural impacts of the grounding on impacted populations.
