Discover our Neighbourhood – Phillipstown Community Mapping is a project that tries to capture and organise the strengths already existing in the Phillipstown areas, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Christchurch, from the neighbourhood level to the individuals with their needs and aspirations, strengths and fragilities. It is a screenshot of the area, its people, the commercial and businesses, places, pocket parks, art work and the relationship among all of these.
The outcome of the Community Mapping Project is an “action plan” that informs the future scope of work in the community development field. The aim is to help our communities strengthen their connections, relationships, awareness and to build more resilient neighbourhoods.
